About the Bristol Short Story Prize
The Bristol Short Story Prize has been running for 16 years and was previously under the direction of coordinator Joe Melia. As of 2024, it is under the direction of Dr Carrie Etter of the Department of English at the University of Bristol.
All shortlisted entries will receive £50, be published in our print anthology and receive a free copy.
1st Prize: £1000
2nd Prize: £500
3rd Prize: £250
Entries can be submitted online or by post, although online is recommended. The entry fee is £12 per story, with up to 50 low-income entries available each month.
