To celebrate the life of the Huntly Writers poet, Brian Nisbet, the Brian Nisbet Poetry Award will take place for the eighth year.

Prizes will be given for the best poem on the theme of REFUGE.

Please read the entry rules below and follow this guide carefully for submission

• Poems should be between 4 and 40 lines long, with the theme, “Refuge”

• Poems can be in Doric or English

• There are three age categories

~ up to and including 12 years

~ age 13 to 17 years

~ 18 years and over

Please state which category you fall into

• Entered poems should not have been previously published

• Entries must be submitted, with name, age category, and contact information attached separately, to Orbs Community Bookshop, 10½, The Square, Huntly, AB54 8BR or by e-mail to [email protected] by mid-day on the 30th September 2023

• Only one entry is allowed per person.

• Entry is free.

Prizes will be awarded linked to National Poetry Day which is celebrated in October.
